New Lightning-Quick CD Players From American Audio Give DJs Instant Control On-The-Fly LOS ANGELES -- If theres one quality that disc jockeys are looking for in audio gear today, its speed. Performing DJs want to add sound effects to their mixes and call up features such as "reverse play" instantaneously, with no lag time or interruption to the music. Now American Audio is offering disc jockeys "speed that breaks the sound barrier," with two new lightning-quick Dual CD Players, the DCD-PRO250 and DCD-PRO450. Both models feature American DJs innovative DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Technology, which allows more than one function to be performed on the CD player at a time -- similar to multi-tasking on a computer. This stunning breakthrough means that disc jockeys can put in audio effects on-the-fly, while the music is playing. They no longer have to stop and set the machine in the pause mode to add effects or activate special features, as was required with CD players in the past. "The theory behind DSP Technology is that DJs work on-the-fly, not in the pause mode," said John Brown, national sales manager at American Audio. "With the DCD-PRO250 and PRO450, you can just push a button and have your effect or performance feature brought up right there, without having to go through two or three steps to get to it. "All of our new CD Players include DSP Technology," added Brown. "Being able to control effects and other features on-the-fly will allow DJs to be a lot more creative with their performances." In addition to DSP Technology, the DCD-PRO250 and DCD-PRO450 offer other speed and performance-enhancing innovations. One brand-new feature on the DCD-PRO450 is a Reverse Button for instant reverse play. "At the push of this button, the CD will immediately start playing in reverse," said Brown. "You dont have to turn a jog wheel to get the CD to reverse, so this is another feature that offers faster speed than other CD players." The upper-end DCD-PRO 450 also includes two unique on-board effects -- Coast and Break --which give the CD player the capability to sound like a turntable. With the Coast feature, for example, when the button is hit, the music will wind down very slowly, similar to the analog-type sound created by a spinning turntable. Like other features, the Coast and Break effects can be activated on-the-fly. Another useful new feature on the DCD-PRO250 and DCD-PRO450 is anti-shock buffer memory. Both models feature 20 seconds of anti-shock memory per deck, for a total of 40 seconds. The DCD-PRO250 and DCD-PRO450 also both offer mechanical and digital anti-shock protection. Of course, the DCD-PRO250 and PRO450 include all the cutting-edge features found on other models in American DJs popular DCD series of CD players, such as True Instant Start, Seamless Loop, and Flip Flop. Additionally, both models can be used with American DJs Q-series mixers to provide Fader Cue Start. Other user-friendly features on the DCD-PRO250 and PRO450 include a bright LCD screen with wide viewing, and sleep mode protection, which automatically shuts off the laser diode after a 15-minute pause |
