Elation Professional has introduced a revolutionary new way to add color to clubs, stage shows, architectural sites ñ or any environment. The company has unveiled the Octopod 80, a cutting-edge LED pod lighting system.

Consisting of a network of eight large lighting pods and a proprietary controller, the Octopod 80 utilizes LED technology to produce a virtually infinite range of colors. Each of the pods is equipped with 90 LEDsó30 red, 30 green and 30 blue which, through RGB color-mixing technology, can create any color imaginable. When all 90 LEDs are turned on, the Octopod 80 will generate extremely bright, 100-percent pure white light. What's more, the system also provides amazingly smooth transitions from one color to the next.

Because the Octopod 80'­s LED system produces no infrared and ultra-violet light, heat production is kept to a minimum. This means the lights can shine directly on an object or surface at close range, with no risk of discoloration, fading or burning. This special feature gives the Octopod 80 the flexibility to fit a wide variety of applications. In addition to clubs, theaters and architectural applications, the Octopod 80'­s low heat production makes it ideal for retail displays, art galleries, video/film productions and more.

Another advantage of the Octopod 80 is the extremely long life of its LEDs. The system is rated at 50,000 hours.

The Octopod 80 comes packaged as a complete system that includes a proprietary Pixel Drive X controller (required for operating the system). Designed for easy and safe installation, the Octopod 80 system is yoke-mountable and comes in a lightweight aluminum case. Eight signal cables are provided, with 5 pin in-out connections on the rear panel of the Pixel Drive X controller. A unit-addressing switch is also included. The energy-efficient system'­s power consumption is 95 watts.

Each of the system'­s eight individual lighting pods measures 6.5" x 4.5". The pods weigh just 1.5 pounds each.
